Once upon a time, CultTVman and the wife were attending a local convention called DragonCon. One of the objects on display at the art show was this item.
It was also scheduled to be raffled off just before the big costume contest. So just before the contest, Cult and his wife buy a munch of raffle tickets. After all, the money was for charity. So the first few
items go up for auction and one of my tickets is drawn. I won an autographed Spawn comic book. Rats, I really wanted that weird item from the art show. Then, they get to the end and raffle off the strange
rubber thing. Guess who's number gets drawn again? Yup, me.
So what is it? It is the arm to a Swamp Thing costume from Return of Swamp Thing. The convention organizer recieved the "arm"
from a friend of his who worked on the movie, which was filmed here in Georgia.
The arm is quite damaged. A large amount of latex has been applied to the upper part of it, probably to hide damage to that
part of the costume. At the wrist is a hidden zipper so the costume would fit snuggly at that point. A solid foam has been applied around the wrist area. The whole arm is made of foam latex applied over a thin
cloth.
