Steve Iverson's Trek Models

Here's a quick look at a couple Trek kits I recently built for an article in Modeler's Resource. Of course, you'll want to pick up issue 55 for all of my comments on these kits!

First up is this build up of the Bandi kit.  It looks great when done, but it has problems, notably gaps that cannot be hidden withough puttying and repainting.  One day....

Now here we have a real model! I had a blast building this and felt great when it was done.   I chose to build the first pilot version, just so I didn't have to deal with lighing at this time.

The folks at Polar Lights did  a great job with this kit.   The shape is dead on.  Unfortunately, to build this kit correctly, you still have to deal with all the same seams the AMT kit had.  The base will be replaced. I can't wait to build more!

Last is a build up of the Communicator kit from Roddenberry.com.    Great kit that gives you impressive results.   Unfortunately, it is no longer availible.
