This is my first model -- the 1701-D. I used 50% duck egg blue and 50% light gray (Model Master original
enamels as a base coat airbrushed on. The darker panels are I believe the base coat with a little light ghost gray added. Phasers are med gray with olive green added. Buzzards are clear red and
nacelles clear blue both with reflective foil inside. I also used various shades of grays all over the ship such as neutral gray for the shuttle doors I think.
The yellow coils on the nacelles are floquil railroad color Reefer Orange with a black wash. No weathering on the model at all
was done. I used a light tan color with a little white added for the lifeboat hatches surrounded with a ultra fine brown permanant marker. The windows behind the captian's yacht was painted on.
Window ports are done in permanant ultra fine point permanant black marker and gloss white paint.
Thrusters were done in bright yellow with black marker markings. Navigational lighting with tiny gem stones. I future
floor waxed her and then sprayed a light coat of dull coat avoiding the clear part areas. Navigational Deflector painted with bright red and icy blue white.
This is the best I can remember my painting scheme. I had the Enterprise D on display at a local model shop for months. People
seemed to like it a lot. Never won any kind of award though. I think my stand and support is very ugly.
I plan also to build another D at a later date hopefully lighted
