I was pretty amazed to see this at Wal-Mart the other night. It was the only
model in the section that was not a car (not that there's anything wrong with cars.). Ten bucks and I owned it.
The box is very well printed, with even the bottom done up nicely (it's one
of those wrap around boxes). Inside are 20 parts, many individually wrapped. The large clear dome and the top of the car is bubblewrapped! The stand and
the spaceship exhaust (not the pipe, the actual exhaust - apparently the EPA does not exist in the future) are also molded in clear. The base is molded
out to be the surface of the moon, with a Jetsons' logo. The instructions are very clear and feature four separate drawings. Paints are called out by
name and number (Seats...Flat Tan #1167) and I am assuming they are referring to Testors bottle paints.
It's a snap together kit, so expect the normal seam problems. Dimples and
ejection pin marks are very large and can be found on every colored piece - prepare to do some sanding, puttying, priming, repeat action.
Unless you are me, that is. As soon as my ten year old daughter saw the box, she begged me to let her have it. With this unusual request, I can honestly
say that Polar Lights has done a good job with this kit. Excuse me while I dream of a Polar Lights Johnny Quest SST..
