Polar Lights 60's Comic Book Batmobile

reviewed by Jeff Denbow

I found this kit to be well molded, not too much flash to trim. This particular model was molded in white, and required painting, however, the kit in the special two pack{with plane}, was molded in black.

The body and belly pan were painted with typical Testors gloss black. I chose not to paint it like the box, but used a Futura paint scheme instead.   Details were painted with acrylic colors. The area that required the most attention as far as detail was the interior, and the figures contained in the box of Batman and Robin.

The dash was fairly detailed, though it could be a little more complex. The figures were easy to assemble, but small gaps at the shoulders were present when assembly was completed.  Keep your putty handy. The chassis detail was very good and very realistic. The engine was a generic big block, with carb/air cleaner setup and it is a good basic motor to customize. I chose to leave mine out as my hood had a slight bend, and had to be cemented shut to correct the problem.  It took about a week of my  time to complete, using evenings and weekends.  All in all a very good kit for the money.
