Return to CultTVman's Fantastic Modeling Return to Modeling Star Trek

BuildEnterprise
Pan S. Chai's Enterprise D

This is the AMT/ERTL USS Enterprise-D.   I built the model to give it to my father on his birthday. He was the original translator of Star Trek TV show for Taiwan audiences. The show inspired a lot young viewers (including me) to study sciences later on. And this model is a kind of tribute to him for all his works during those years.

The windows on the Enterprise were all hollowed out individually. It took me about 2 weeks to remove all of them. Then I using the mini-fluorescent lamp from Digikey to lighted up the interior. I custom built a base and put the ship scheme on it. Then I put a plexiglass on top of it (got the idea from the custom-built base of Absolute Model).

The construction steps from CultTV web site are great helps to finalize the construction of the ship.

It was a fun project and I intend to build two more of the Enterprise series, A and B in the future.
