Orlando Guiang's Promethius

Due to the show's premise, ST Voyager never really had the chance to employ other starfleet ship designs in their storylines.  There were a few exceptions, one of which was Message in a Bottle, which gave us a look at a revolutionary design....The USS Prometheus.  This ship was designed for battle. Possessing the ability to split into 3 separate modules during battle, this ship certainly presented any opponent with a formidable force to deal with. This resin model was constructed from the kit available from Starcraft models. The surface detail is very good and clean. Virtually no assembly is required. Most of your time is taken up with painting.  After priming it with gray primer, my model was painted with Testors Light gray.  The phaser strips were painted with a color called concrete.  Testor's bright blue was used for the warp nacelles.

The ship fits together quite nicely although there are a few gaps between the halves of the secondary hull.  Overall this makes a nice miniature. If you're into building a 1/1400 fleet then this is definitely a great addition. Incidentally, you can see that a Starfleet emblem is displayed at the base of the stand.  I've taken a plastic emblem that came with a Playmate figure, drilled a hole and glued it into place. At least they're good for something. The battle pictures that you see were made with photoshop.
