This is the very large model made by Polar Lights. This model was definitely made to light up, due to the size of the model, but I will do this later. This model took me about 2 weeks to complete.

I achieved the hull color by spraypainting the whole ship silver, and then lightly spraying it with black. This gave the model a less intense shine with a dark silver color. The hull plating was completely handpainted with silver. I drew on the hull plating with a pencil and painted little sections at a time, this took the longest time. My reference was some hull plating pictures from starshipmodeler.com. The stand is also handpainted to look like the Enterprise logo.
