Michael Walker's Star Trek Models

mwobertht

The USS Oberth was first seen in Star Trek III, and is built from the Sci Fi Miniatures vacuform kit.  The decals are made from scratch,  except for the "Starfleet" logos.  Many of the details were scratch built, including recessed shuttle bays, the impulse engine, and parts of the warp engines.  Additional details include added navigation lights, and scribed panel lines.  Tamiya paint was used for the finish, and then oil washed, drybrushed and weathered with pastels.

mwsurakt

The Vulcan Shuttle Surak was seen in Star Trek The Motion Picture.  It is built "out of the box" from the AMT kit.  Tamiya paints  were used for the finish, and weathered with pastels and oils.

Both the Oberth and Surak won prizes at the Atlanta SF Modeling show in January of 1999.

Michael Walker/Walker Enterprise sells a series of brass templates for painting the "Aztec" patterns on starship hulls.  Ordering details can be found on the SF Suppliers Page .
