This model is illuminated with fluorescent tubes. It was based on an article published in Fine Scale Modeler in
1994.
I made the decals for the lifeboats, markings, windows, and the saucer and battle section "edges".
I used the circuit board from the Enterprise A
Special Edition and a circuit board from a Voyager toy to give the model sound effects and flashing lights.
The base color is painted per the instruction sheet, but a little more sky blue is
added to match the Generations model. The aztek panels were handpainted using duck egg blue.
When the paint was dry, I oversprayed the base color to tone down the
contrasting panels. The decals from the kit were then added, in addition to my own.
