BuildEnterprise

John Nelson's Star Trek kits

Enterprise-C     This model was built stock. The paint job was hand painted in various shades of light ghost grey, light white, light cream, light sky blue, dark blue, transparent red, and black. The windows where done in dark charcol pencils. This was the last of the Enterprises' to be rendered in injection plastic by AMT/ETRL

The USS Enterprise-D  Bulit from stock, painted  in Navy Agressor Gray. The windows are all done in charcol pencil. The nacelle Bussard Collectors and Warp Plasma vents are painted inside with  floresent paints. This particular model is awaiting the  "Escape Pod Hatches" decals by Thomas Models to complete.

The USS Enterprised-D Stardrive Section. Built from stock, with some additional detailing along the "head's" dorsal Phaser Array and the edges of the Engineering Section. I prefered this version to the "Complete" ship, as in this form she resembled the "Classic" Enterprise's in overall shape (Not to mention, she was more manuverable too, with out the saucer attached)

USS Enterprise, NCC-1701 as I remember her. The  Gray Lady, stark, lean, and beautiful. This kit is the 22" "Cutaway" assembled in one piece. The ship was filled, sanded, and primed before being painted Navy aggressor gray. The windows where  all hand painted, and penciled in.  The nacelle bussard collectors where painted opaque from the inside.

USS Reliant NCC-1864
This model was built stock and was a "Display" model for a local Hobby store. it was painted with Testors paint and dull coated over the non painted hull. I decided not to paint the hull due to the fact the model would be suspended on wires from the ceiling  for display. The one side effect of this was a unique "weathering" pattern due to the air contitioning vents.

USS Voyager (Special Edition) Monagram did a reall good job in the decals, and correcting "Flaws" in the bridge area.

This kit was built from stock. Painted in the same color as suggested, by Thomas Models. This kit is the  "Special Edition" with the "Silky" decals (including the lifeboat hatches and Phaser warning strips.) Note the decal in the "Saucer Deflector" housing. All the windows are done  with charcol pencil and the nacells are in muted red and copper (denoting a "Powered Down" ship). This model still needs some additional detailing and "dirting down".

The USS Rio Grande. A Danube class Runabout, was one  of the three original ships assigned to DS9 to survive the entire series (Not even the Defiant could boast that. Built as stock, painted in light sand, tan, and light ghost gray. The nacells and windows  where painted from the inside, prior to final assembly (as the nacelles where a real "Pain" to assemble)

Enterprise A.    Don Matthy's part's and decals were excelent (I will highly recomend them to anyone looking to accurize a Trek kit!). Coupled with the highly detailed "Aztec" paint scheme (which took me almost 2 weeks to complete) this Enterprise is the best model I have ever attempted!
