Jim Apitz' 1940's Batmobile

ja19401t

These two images are of my 1940's comic book styled Batmobile. I used a standard AMT 1939 or 1940 (I don't remember which) Ford as the  starting point. The Bat shield on the front was made from a plastic spoon and some stretched sprue. The Bat wing on the top of the car was made with three separate pieces of flat stock glued together.

I chose to add my own touch to the car by making the rear bumper in the shape of a bat. This model is one of the oldest in  my collection and I am planning to build a new version soon.
