Jason VanderMolen's Enterprise E

The Enterprise NCC 1701-E is the latest AMT Enterprise.  This kit was especially challenging because it is so small.

I drilled all the windows and shaped them with an exacto knife. I had just enough room to put one 9W flourescent U shaped tube in the main hull and one small 5W flourescent in the secondary hull.  I used some blue LIGHTSHEET (two peices 5.5X0.5) for the warp nacelles.  This seems to be the best thing to use for that nice blue glow.  The ram scoops have one red LED each and the navigational lights are fiberoptics.

This model uses the same style stand as my Enterprise-D. I painted the model light grey base color and two more darker shades painted by hand on other panels.  I have to say my most favorite part on the model has to be the yellow deflector dish.  Don't ask me how I got the black lines painted so small, but it looks really cool. The least favorite part of the kit was half the lifeboat decals didn't have the border around them.  I tried to fix them as good as I could.
