I'm not ashamed to say that Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy fascinated me ! Its a fantastic portrait of Tolkien's world, despite being not a literal translation of the books to the big screen.

This model started as a Toy Biz toy I've found last October. I've reworked most parts, and scratch the Witch-king of Angmar using a few parts from a metal knight. The model went well, but some parts needed extensive rework, like the wings. You can find in progress photos here
