We start out this edition of On The Bench with a Star Trek project from Richard Long.

I've recently completed a Sovereign class starship. I'm about to start the paint, and I'm in the process of trying to find someone to make some decals.
If you're interested here's some pictures.

The model is made from 4lb rigid foam that I bought from a special effects house in California. It has a plexiglass frame based on the ILM model. It's covered in fiberglass with styrene and metal details. The nacelle wings are machined aluminum for strength, they were made at a local machine shop. The model was originally a "plug" for a mold but I decided I will make a another one 4' long for a mold process.

The next project comes from David Campbell, a lighted Martian War Machine from War of the Worlds

And last for this week is an old picture from Bill Early that I never published. 

Here is a picture of the Icarus that I'm doing. Just getting ready to put on the first primer coat. The gray hull is fiberglass and bondo, the white is my old standby, tub surround plastic. I have yet to do up the little canards on the front, as well as some panels on the aft end.
