This model does not hold any surprise for the builder, and its instructions are quite straight forward (except perhaps for the
gluing of the lower wings, which do not have any special marking, so you'll need to find the correct posture before gluing them to the main hull...). Other than that the parts connect quite well, and
take only mild filling and sanding.
After filling & sanding I painted a first layer of red-brown color, and a second layer of beige-brown color. Than I painted the panels' edges with medium gray and added various details. I filthed it using dry brush technique. Masking first the desired areas to remain clean with post-it notes. Since the paper has a certain width, you need to back it a bit from the desired line, or the color will be spread with a distance from the desired place. Then tipped a medium-tough bristled flat brush onto flat black paint, dried it almost completely off, and painted the filth spread from the panels' edges backwards. After that was done, I used the same technique but with a round brush and no post-its and with various colors to add the non-uniform and non-symetrical filth & dust. When that was done, I re-painted the details that were not to be filth-covered. An overall matt coting, and than painted the windows and the non-matt details (like the orange engines).
I didn't use the supplied windows decals, for there are not enough for all the windows, and I think they're way too dark, too. The Kazon emblem is quite a large decal, and meant to be applied on
the rounded surface, so I cut all around the clear part slices so it'd fold better on the curved surface.
For a models show, I've added to the stand a wire extention, and on it I've mounted a
flock of 5 shuttles (the small snap-together 'kits') surrounding it in mid-flight or attack formation.
